Stanway Villa FC - No Smoking Policy Printable Version: (Click on the Icon Below) Stanway Villa FC
No Smoking Policy Purpose: This policy has been developed to protect all, Players, Supporters, Managers, Coaches and Visitors from exposure to second-hand smoke. Exposure to second-hand smoke, also known as passive smoking, increases the risk of lung cancer, heart disease and other illnesses. The practice of, Players, Supporters, Managers, Coaches and Visitors, being exposed to second-hand smoke from the pitch side-lines or other, recreational places, internal or external, at Stanway Villa FC, is unacceptable and unreasonable under the Health and Well Being, Smoke-Free Regulations 2007 governing No-Smoking in Public Places. Ventilation or separating smokers and non-smokers within the same airspace does not completely stop potentially dangerous exposure. This policy is also aimed at minimising/eliminating the Heath and Safety Risk to all Players, in that a Player may face the potential danger of accidentally running off the field of play during a Match onto an exposed burning cigarette end, it is considered unacceptable and unreasonable for Players to be exposed to the risk of cigarette burns. Policy: It is the policy of Stanway Villa Football Club, that ALL of our recreational places, internal or external, are smoke-free and all Players, Supporters, Managers, Coaches and Visitors, have a right to enjoy in a smoke-free environment. This policy has been adopted by the Management Committee and shall come into effect on 06 March 2008. Smoking is actively discouraged throughout all, recreational places, internal or external, at Stanway Villa FC, Villa Road Ground, including the Dressing Rooms and the Village Hall. This policy applies to all, Players, Supporters, Managers, Coaches and Visitors at Stanway Villa FC. March 2008. – Rev A.
